Central Park Square

Here is another of the Central Avenue high-rises in the mid-town area. This one is Central Park Square and it houses a number of different businesses. I tried to locate information about the architect but was not successful. The only thing I know is that it was built in 1984.

The staggered look of this solid glass building gives it a bit of architectural interest and saves it (just a little) from the boring ‘glass box’ look.

  1. At first sight I assumed this was one buiding in sections. It's a good idea to stagger them like that. They're certainly more interesting. I like the colour too..

  4. The segments of the building parallel the four palm trees.

The staggered facade of the building does more than add visual interest. It allows for multiple "corner offices" on the side, thereby increasing the attractiveness of the space, and its value for rental income, by its increased ability to accommodate the egos of the tenants whowant corner offices.

  8. I like how the palm trees mimic the tall, narrow repeating shape of the building. Interesting shot!
