At the Front Door

This little fellow appeared to be guarding the front door to his home inside the saguaro cactus.  I think he was a little wary of me standing below him so he kept flying away and returning quickly to sit at the entrance again.  I didn't see any activity inside but, there probably was a family in there and he was being the protector.

This is a super shot! You have what it takes to make a great photographer - patience! Not a doctor, though. For that you need patients. :)

That's a nice little home he has there.

Do you know what kind of bird it is?

I checked into growing African daisies in England. We can grow a variety here, but they don't look like yours -- in fact, they're purple! I suspect the orange ones need more heat and drier conditions than we can easily provide.

Is that a cactus wren?

A fantastic shot, Sharon and you're not getting any closer to his front door. :)

You have a good eye to spot the sentinel.

I don't doubt that you are correct. A guardian must be watchful and aggressive.
