A bit of an adventure

I went on a bit of an adventure last Friday.  I flew to San Jose California just for the day, to visit the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum.  I had been there once before, probably about 20 years ago and I wanted to experience the place again.  The museum and the grounds are built like ancient Egyptian buildings and gardens and the museum itself contains the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts on display in western North America.  I've always been fascinated by ancient Egypt.

When I planned the trip about a month or so ago, I was hoping for a bright sunny day for photographing the beautiful buildings and grounds but, nature had something else in mind.  It was cloudy and rainy all day long but that didn't stop me from taking almost 300 photos that I now need to sort and edit.  I enjoyed the day very much in spite of the weather and the long commute.  It was a long day but, well worth the trip.

I'll have some of the photos and more information about the museum in about a week or so on my Sharon's Sojourns site but, for today I'm visiting one of my favorite places in St. Louis.

Cool! What a fun thing to do! I haven't even heard of that museum, but I love day trips like that. :)

A goal like this for a day is wonderful. Cameras can work around the weather. Very interesting sculpture to start with too.

You are something else - just hop on a plane and fly away...that's wonderful and I envy you. Not sure I'd go to a Egyptian kind of place, but I might.

Love this photo...it appears that the horned goat? and the human are looking right at you almost daring you to take a photo!

Sometimes you can get gorgeous shots in during overcast and rainy weather. You take tons of pictures like I do, lol.

How fun! I love seeing anything featuring ancient Egyptian artifacts too. I have been to the Egyptian exhibit at the Field Museum in Chicago three times! I am looking forward to seeing more of your photos.

The statue is unusual; would like to know more about it.
