Cardinal

I'm not sure what kind of bird this is. I spotted it at the Desert Botanical Garden.

I'm so glad brattcat suggested a female cardinal. That is what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure.

It is good to see cardinals in Arizona, since we have a football team named the Cardinals.

I'm thinking Cardinal as well. The bill looked so large! But, my Sibley's book says " Southwest populations of Northern Cardinal (mainly Arizona) have a large bill ... and longer and bushier crest"

Nice capture, Sharon. Love the powder blue sky in the background.
