This giant red chicken showed up on Camelback Road recently. It sits in front of a new restaurant called Houston TX Hot Chicken. This is about the third or fourth 'hot chicken' restaurant I've seen open up in the Phoenix area.
I asked Google why and it gave me a simple answer. Chicken is inexpensive and American taste for spicy food has spiked.
I used to like spicy food myself but over the past several years my tolerance for the 'heat' has waned. So, I haven't tested any of these new places.
Has this new "hot chicken" fad developed in your area?

No - or very little - hot chicken here in the DC area.
ReplyDeleteShe's a very hot chicken indeed. Cute too.
ReplyDeleteNo locations open in Canada, and there is only one restaurant in Charlotte. I checked.
ReplyDeleteShe really stands out. Show off !!!
Hmmmm...that sounds like a Google AI explanation for what would otherwise simply be called a trend! I like the big red chicken, though!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any of those places here but spicy food seems to be everywhere these days. I can't handle it much anymore either, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteA couple of hot chicken restaurants have opened here. I haven't been to either.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sculpture!
