Strolling Elephants

 

I found these two strolling elephants on entrance to a very small Thai restaurant recently.  They seem very appropriate for a Thai restaurant.

    I am surprised that their trunks are facing downward as in Thailand culture elephants are normally painted with trunks facing upwards to attract prosperity, wisdom and good fortune. It looks very much like what I've seen in Thailand otherwise.
