I was at the Heard Museum yesterday for one of the Artful Mornings lectures and I was surprised to see all these colorful flags flying above the courtyard. I'm not sure why they were there and silly me, I forgot to ask someone. Regardless, they made a pretty addition to the museum's courtyard area.

Prayer flags?
ReplyDeleteThey are so cheerful, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteThey are similar to prayer flags, maybe a modern take on them?
ReplyDeleteThese are Mexican papeles picados. If you look that up, you can see lots of them strung across streets, etc.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Kind of surprised that they're not common in Phoenix....I'm in TX and they are usual in restaurants, on streets for celebrations, etc...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information. I have seen them before just not at a the museum. Good to know.
