Grackle in Black and White

This is another photo I took while I was at Park Central.  There were a lot of grackles in that little park-like area I had photos of yesterday.  This one was standing on a grate that covered the well around a tree.  I  zoomed in to catch him with that dizzying background.  Since the bird was jet-black, I converted the photo to black and white.  Now it looks like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie.

A bit more zoomed out, and it would have been perfect.

The black and white makes that beady eye even beadier!

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
“’Tis some visitor,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door—
Only this and nothing more.”

Excellent! It does look very Hitchcock -- "Vertigo" meets "The Birds"!

Those birds are big in a close-up.
