Last Friday I went to Scottsdale Fashion Square for a quick shopping trip and decided to check out the progress of the construction going on. I first posted about it in April.
It looks to me me like it's still pretty far from being completed. In the top photo to the right, you see an escalator. When I posted in April, they had taken the escalator out and now it's back.
With malls closing everywhere, I hope they know what they are doing.
This place is literally shut down altogether
ReplyDeleteThat is a major rebuild. I agree, I would pour millions into retail space today.
ReplyDeleteWalmart is closing 21 retail locations across the US this year, including four in Chicago, citing poor financial performance at each.
ReplyDeleteHigh end retail must still be lucrative.
ReplyDeleteThat is a big project to undertake.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a huge project, I hope it works out well.
ReplyDeleteYikes and also Wow. I remember going to Fashion Square in the Olden Days when it was relatively new. Don't think I'd wander there nowadays until they get through tearing it apart and putting it back together.
ReplyDeleteI guess you gotta spend money to make money, as they say, but yeah, I hope they've done their market research!
