I've featured this very tall, Frank Lloyd Wright designed tower before but it's been a long time ago.
This sculpture resides at the corner of Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.
This time I've included the plaque that appears at its base. It tells us that this design was originally meant to sit atop the Arizona State Capital if Wright's design for that building had been accepted. Sadly, it wasn't.
Love the photo of the tower.
ReplyDeleteAnd a very impressive sculpture it is.
ReplyDeleteAn impressive tower!
ReplyDeleteNice one... that is a long way up.
ReplyDeleteWow. I don't remember if I have seen this before. It is wonderful, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteIt fits in the landscape
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was that it was an abstract Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteHope the birthday dinners were fun and the food was good.
night view please
ReplyDeleteIt stands out beautifully.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive and interesting back story!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite designer, very retro
ReplyDeleteGreat picture and design! I can only imagine how innovative the state capitol would have looked if they'd gone with him as the architect.
