I had an errand to run in Scottsdale the other night and I decided to get some dinner while I was there. To get to the restaurant, I had to cross the canal at the area called the Scottsdale Waterfront. I thought the evening sky reflected in the water looked kind of pretty so I snapped a photo. After I ate and walked back this way I saw lots and lots of bats skimming over the water looking for insects to eat. I hadn't seen that here before.
A little further along, I saw that a new steakhouse had moved into this building that had been vacant for a few months. They planted a garden of metal cactus out front. It made me wonder why they hadn't used real cactus. We have plenty around here.
Just past the new steakhouse, I saw this group of musicians performing a little open-air concert. I'm not sure why. There was nothing around to indicate who they were or why they were there.
My errand was to pick something up at one of the stores inside the mall. As I walked through the Nordstrom store, I spotted this display of Polaroid cameras and film. Is Polaroid making a comeback? Seems odd when everyone has a camera in their pocket these days.
There were lots of things for me to ponder on this evening in Scottsdale.
I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today. I'm featuring some sights around the town of McMinnville Oregon.

Thanks for the tour Sharon. You pick the most interesting things to see and do. I wish I could have been there to see the bats in action.
That reflected shot is pretty.
Polaroid is indeed something of the past :). The Iron cactus is funny!
Love the reflection! The street vibe is fabulous too
I like the photo of the musicians.
Nice street musicians, instant photo systems are experiencing a little popularity, the novelty of having a photo print in hand, for a generation that has only ever had a digital image. Fuji also has a system.
Interesting observations. : )
I know in Texas, bats sometimes roost on the underside of bridges over rivers. (I think there's a famous roost in Austin.) Maybe that's what's going on in Scottsdale?
Yeah, Polaroids are a thing -- I think particularly among younger people who don't remember them from the first time around. Personally, I prefer digital any day!
Polaroid cameras must seem like magic to young people. I like your tour around the town, Sharon.
The first photo is spectacular.
