I suppose the word "ugly" is a little presumptuous of me. I'm sure these creatures must be beautiful to someone. They are quite scary to me. Fortunately, these three were encased in glass and not about to do me any harm. They were part of a display at the Desert Botanical Garden's butterfly pavilion back in the spring.
I wouldn't want to run into any of these insects crawling around anywhere near me.

I've seen rose chafer beetles on Hampstead Heath -- maybe not quite THAT big.
I am not particularly fond of bugs.

These specimens do reveal the wonder of creator though
I don't think any of them are ugly, the spider creeps me out a bit but the first insect is a pretty colour
