Where the Lilies Grow

Last Thursday, I posted a series of photos I took on one of my walks at the garden.  One of those photos was of this spot called the Shade Garden and anchored by a rather gnarly looking tree.

I thought I'd mention that this is the spot where the spider lily plant grows in the fountain next to that stone bench.  I haven't seen it bloom like this in quite a while.

These photos are from the last time I saw blooms on this plant back in 2014.  I'll have to make an effort to visit this spot more often and watch for it to bloom again.  The flowers are so delicate looking.

  1. I love spider lilies. I used to see them a lot in Florida, but I don't see them in the UK -- I wonder if it's too cold or too dark here.
