I took my walk last Friday at the Scottsdale Civic Center park because it was in the path of that VE Day flyover. There were other people there for the same reason but everyone was very good about staying way farther away than the recommended 6 feet. I usually see ducks enjoying the water feature in front of city hall but, I didn't expect to see so many. This group was running across the sidewalk to get back to the water.
This pile-up of ducks was hiding under the rose bushes.
And, this one was wondering what I was doing. They all look like they are pretty young. Old enough to be on their own but still not quite mature. They were fun to watch and there were a few children around who were thrilled when a group jumped into the water.
Ducks in the city behave like humans, just take al walk in the street :)
ReplyDeleteThe last photo is a fantastic closeup.
ReplyDeleteThey have probably been wondering where everyone has been!
ReplyDeleteUse to have a bunch that took up residence every year near the garage at a house where I used to live where they could also just waddle across the street to water.
ReplyDeleteThe ducks in the first photo are adorable, Sharon, and the last photo is fantastic !
ReplyDeleteA cute bunch.
ReplyDeleteLovely ducks. I love the photo where they're crossing to go into the water. Here, they usually stop traffic as they cross streets. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe wee ducks in the first photo made me think that they just got out of school for the day. :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right: they're young ducklings. We came across some in a nearby marsh recently looking almost this big and swimming with Mom.
ReplyDeleteA 'pile-up' of ducks, love that description Sharon 😊 I think the birds are really enjoying the cleaner air and water while we are all in different stages of isolation and not polluting as usual ✨
ReplyDeleteVery sweet Sharon. We often see them around the river in Perth.
ReplyDeleteTypical teenagers, all hanging out together!
