Rusted and Hiding

Last weekend, I was trying to track down a mural to photograph when I spotted this rusted old card sitting in a driveway, partially hidden by the car in front of it.  It looks like it's all ready for some TLC to bring it back to life.  I hope that's what the owners have in mind.

Waiting to be restored, perhaps.

I think It is a Ratrod which is an old vehicle with a rusty but intact surface and they then clear coat it to keep it that way. There is a real sub-culture of these and they have a lot of car shows with just the old Ratrods. You see them often on the TV car restoring shows.

It would need a lot of work.

There's no hiding from your lens Sharon ☺ gosh I bet this was a beauty in its heyday!

Nice find! Lots of people like them just like that, all rusty and showing their age. Too bad they don't feel that way about humans like me.

very cool photo, though! Why does super rustic 'sing to me'....? I don't know. I just know that it does.

Wow, what a cool old car. I appreciated RedPat's comment above -- I've never heard of a Ratrod but it's interesting to consider that may be what's going on here! It looks like something Elliott Ness would have been riding in, guns blazing.

That was a nice find Sharon, it probably was a beauty in its day no doubt. I guess RedPat is very knowledgeable about Ratrods, I never heard of them before either. :)
