Odd Shots

I have a new assortment of odd shots to share today.  First is the sculpture in downtown Phoenix called "Her Secret is Patience" by the artist Janet Echelman.  I haven't featured this art piece in ages.  My night shot of it is still my favorite.

I big pile of black tubes (probably culverts) that I found with a tree growing behind them.  Something about the scene caught my eye.

Shadow, sunlight and blue sky drew my attention to this opening in wall at the Heard Museum one day.

And, I found my old Mickey Mouse watch in a drawer a few days ago.  I haven't worn that watch in ages and I used to wear it every day.

  4. Isn't it interesting how others see one's photos? Not odd at all, but creative. My favourite is the Heard Museum opening. Laughed at the Mickey Mouse watch. Mine doesn't work anymore but I couldn't throw it away.

  5. I love the sculpture but I wonder if birds don't run into it. That is a real problem here with the poor things flying into the glass of the tall towers around town. Also like your old Mickey watch, Sharon!

  6. That sculpture looks about 10 stories high, but I'll bet that's a photographic illusion. I always love these mixed series because you get some super photos. You are an artiste and have an artiste's eye so when you add that to your photographic skills, the results are amazing. That Mickey Mouse watch might be worth something...probably not much but you never know.

  7. You have a nice assortment of images for us today! I think I've seen that watch on Antique's Roadshow and it was worth some money.

  8. Great shots! You DO have a good eye. The simplicity of the window is wonderful, and that sculpture is fascinating. (I agree, though -- your night shot is terrific. Definitely postcard-worthy!)

  9. Her Secret Is Patience is as enigmatic as the name itself!

  10. Both the day and night shots of the sculpture are beautiful. What a very interesting piece it is. I also love the Heard Museum image of the blue sky through the opening in the wall. It's very simplistic and nice. The MM watch is very cool.
