This year's tree is no exception. It is literally a $5,000.00 tree because it's composed of about 5,000 one dollar bills.
Here's a close-up view. They are real dollars, I asked just to make sure.
The star on the top of tree is made up of shiny new pennies.
From the table where we were seated, I liked looking at the view of the tree in the big mirror that is on the back wall of the restaurant.
I go to AZ88 because I love the atmosphere and the food but, the creative art keeps me coming back time and again.
I wonder about what they will do with the tree when the season comes to an end? Do they give it to charity?
ReplyDeleteGood question about what occurs with the tree at the end. Who sponsors this unusual tree. . . the restaurant or the merchants in the area?
ReplyDeleteVery interesting but because I'm something of a drag, I couldn't help wonder if the Spirit of Christmas might not be better served by giving those dollars to the homeless or other such cause? :) Have a wonderful celebration, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteThat's clever! I'm sure they take it down carefully and put it all back in the bank -- or give it to charity, as a commenter suggested above.
ReplyDeleteThat's very different!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
I'm hoping the money goes to a charity! We haven't had 1 dollar bills in years!
ReplyDeleteThat is an unusual tree and I do hope that the restaurant is going to donate the money to a worthy cause. That would be wonderful if they did that. I do like the star made with shiny new pennies.
ReplyDeleteThey should divide that tree among the staff.
ReplyDeleteyes, same question from me as the first commentor. do they give the money to charity?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what to think about that. I think I agree with Lowell.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there was any pilferage.
ReplyDeleteUhhhh . . . . why?
