The Muse

There are some brand new apartments that have just opened right across the street from the Phoenix Art Museum.  They are called "Muse".  A few years ago I served on the Encanto Village Planning board for my old neighborhood and I remember when this apartment plan came before the board.  It was supposed to have a work/living feature with businesses on the ground floor and apartments above.  I'm going to have to take a closer look at this place to see if it turned out that way.

Are those living units with the big slanted windows in front? If so, it would be interesting to see INSIDE those apartments. I don't see a lot of evidence of businesses on the ground floor, do you?

I'm guessing there are at least some businesses on the ground level...but they take more time to get folks than apartments. I'm not sure about this...the red entrance is a bit much. I'll bet the rent is a bit much, too.

Mmmm...can't decide about the style of this building...for some reason I just keep think of a cartoon building...weird, I know!

Interesting. The first thing that popped into my mind was that old tv show "The Jetsons" for some reason!

A lot of the buildings being done here these days feature stores or restaurants on the ground floor as well, with residences above. This one stands out well.

It looks really hot to me, Sharon! Probably because it is still really warm & humid here!

I think the building really stands out and adds some beauty to the intersection. It does have the modern look which is nice. I love the red entrance.

I actually like it Sharon, it's different and definitely not boring. The idea of living in an apartment with a cafe on the ground floor gets more and more appealing every day 😀

It's a unique looking building. I kind of agree with the cartoon look comments.

You were on a planning board? What a thankless service. I have opinions that are too strong to serve like that. I would have vetoes this place just because I don't care for the style. It looks like it began life as an ice cream stand and had babies.
