Big Round Tree

This big and very round tree caught my eye recently so I decided to stop to get a photo. I'm sure the owners must have it trimmed to keep that lovely round shape.

This view shows the house it belongs to  This is in one of our historic neighborhoods, so this house was probably built some time in the 1940's.

  1. What a beautiful round tree. A lot of work must go into maintaining its shape.

  5. Gosh it's huge Sharon, that must take quite a bit of upkeep to it so perfectly round!

  6. That is a very precise trim job. I wonder what it would look like if they just let it go?

  7. There were a couple of families in our old neighborhood who trimmed their trees in such a fashion but the trees weren't this big! It would take a lot of work on a regular basis to keep this looking good. That house is what gets to me. Such elegance and understated grandeur. The 40s were good to me in many ways and so I get nostalgic about items from that era. I know what you're thinking and no, it wasn't the 1840s it was the 1940s. Sheesh!

Have a fun weekend, my friend!

  8. I love the look of the house! I wonder how many birds roost in that tree every night?

  10. I can't imagine the work involved in keeping that beautiful tree trimmed. Well worth it though!

  11. I can't imagine how someone would go about trimming a tree that big. They would need a bucket truck to get to the top of it. I wonder what kind of tree that is.

  13. Well, it does make for a good photograph, but I am not a fan of pruning trees to within an inch of their lives. Put me down in the "kind of natural" column. I do prune for health and safety, and I eliminate lower limbs of taller trees, but that is all.

  14. This tree isn't trimmed... We have one like it in our yard. It's very round. And big and has lots of branches. If anyone knows the name please tell me?
