This is Gibbs, the official greeter at the Princess Resort. Although this photo doesn't convey it, he was very friendly and walked right up to everyone who displayed an interest. In fact, when I stopped petting him, he sort of nudged me for some more. What a sweetheart! When I asked if I could take his photo, he got a bit bashful and retreated to a corner. (It's so rare to find a dog that loves to have his picture taken.)
Gibbs had a partner who was on break when I was there. He had retreated to his bed in the corner of the lobby and was fast asleep.
I don't believe I've ever encountered a resort that uses dogs to greet guests before. Have any of you seen this done anywhere? Being a dog lover, I enjoyed it very much.
My daughter wouldn't leave the dogs, if we stayed there! What a unique and special way to greet guests!
ReplyDeleteA unique day bed for a unique dog!
ReplyDeleteThat first photo melts my heart...it reminds me of Haley, our Golden whom we lost several years ago! I've not heard of dogs as greeters before, but I like the idea, too. Thing is, some people are afraid of dogs so that might be a little dicey. :)
ReplyDeleteI would like that too, although, I'm sure there are many people who would object. I wonder who they belong to. Maybe the manager? Both are very cute.
ReplyDeleteSuch cuties!
ReplyDeleteI haven't Sharon but I'd really like to, such a good idea, would immediately make people relax.. even before their first glass of wine ☺
ReplyDeleteI like it that these dogs are the greeters to the guests. I would love to stay at such a place.
ReplyDeleteWhen we had the bookstore I wanted a cat there but we decided it would not be good for our customers with allergies. That sleeping dog picture is funny!
ReplyDeleteI really like that doggie bed!
ReplyDeleteThee are so many loved dogs in the U.S--wish all were treat with care and good attention.
