Homes for the Birds

I found two classy looking birdhouses hanging in a tree last weekend.  They remind me of the houses I photographed last year in some of our historic neighborhoods.  They have that mellowed with age look.

I think they are very appealing in a vintage sort of way.  I wonder if they are well used.

  1. When it comes to building birdhouses some people have great imaginations.

  2. I agree and also find them very attractive. Can't really explain that but it's probably why I like older Victorian style homes.

  3. They ARE attractive, and they look like they're still functional, unlike the "distressed" birdhouse that Ellen blogged about a while ago:

  4. I love the old weathered look of these two birdhouses. Maybe they were starter homes for the birds just starting out.

  5. I like them both! I have a couple of birdhouses, but I'm a little selfish and keep them inside.

I saw these two photographs and really liked them, so I thought I must stop and leave a comment.
