In addition to all the beautiful art works for sale, the Indian Fair and Market also celebrated performance talents too. This hoop dancer was performing an eagle dance with his collection of hoops. These dancers are so interesting to watch as they take each individual hoop up from the ground while never stopping their dance, and then forming them into various shapes. This shape represents an eagle.
It really is beautiful to watch these performers in action.
I absolutely agree Sharon, this would have been incroyable to see live. How on earth do they manage to keep all of those hoops spinning at the same time! Super shots here.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure to watch!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how they do that!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine the skill and hours of practice needed to keep all those hoops spinning but it would make a fantastic performance!
ReplyDeleteThat must take so much practice to get your arms through the loops in the right places!
ReplyDeleteIn that last picture he's looking right into your lens. Great pictures of a great young hoop dancer.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite incredible! I'd love to see it in person. Thanks for these great photos, too!
ReplyDeleteIt must take lots of time and effort to learn, practice and perfect the dance. I think I'll try to learn more about it because it is so impressive.
ReplyDeleteIt i unique to western North America. A cynical observer, however, might see some marketing for the Olympics.
ReplyDeleteNice shots, Sharon. I would have enjoyed watching his dance.
