While I was at the Phoenix Art Museum on Friday I stopped to see the new Fashion exhibit in the gallery that is always dedicated to fashion through the ages.
I fell in love with this suit by the Italian designer Franco Moschino. It was from the 1990's, just the era when I could have used a lovely designer suit.
Check out the back of the jacket with hooked needle embroidered on. I love it.
I have a new post on
Sharon's Sojourns today. I'm featuring my favorite place to stay when visiting Santa Fe.
I love that back too, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteNot my kind of place, but I'll fight to the death for your right to stare at these gorgeous designs and spooky models. What's with the mannequins these days? They look like they were just released from 10 years in solitary! :)
ReplyDeleteIf those are vintage clothes, they would look right in style today.
ReplyDeleteMom could have made that suit for you. I would venture to say that I could make that suit too if I were inclined to do so, but I don't think I would like to try to do the embroidery on the back. And I'd have to buy a new sewing machine......and find a pattern...and get some sewing lessons.....never mind.
You don't need that suit.
Sisters, sisters! Judy made me laugh out loud with her comment.
ReplyDeleteThat last one certainly stands out!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice suit. I remember seeing ads for Moschino. The '90s weren't a bad decade for fashion.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I can so see us all in that little black suit, tres elegant Sharon.. well maybe not William and Lowell ☺☺
