I found another sculpture in the Heard Museum gardens that I haven't featured before. This one is by Doug Hyde and it's called "Navajo Water Girl".
In the late 60's, Doug Hyde went to the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe New Mexico where he became friends with Allan Houser. He still lives and works in Santa Fe today.
A very lovely sculpture, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteThis captures beautifully a Navajo woman carrying water. I love the clean lines of the piece.
ReplyDeleteVery clean and smooth!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I love the facial expression and the clean style.
ReplyDeleteSmooth, simple lines result in a beautiful sculpture. The Indian Art School has been a real treasure over the generations.
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely...always something to admire there.
ReplyDeleteAn impressive sculpture, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. I could gladly live with this piece.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOops, Sharon. You framed her with a cactus feather protuding from her head. Or maybe you intended to do that.
