If it hadn't been for a comment that Grace (
Perth Daily Photo) left on my site yesterday, I would not have known that today is Love a Tree day. I looked it up and sure enough, loving a tree is one of the designations for May 16th. So I encourage you to do like this Northern Mockingbird, give a tree a hug today. If you are not into hugging, an appreciative and admiring glance will also work.
Such a sweet little Mockingbird giving the tree some love :) thanks for joining in the fun Sharon..
ReplyDeleteIt's always a good day to love a tree! Mockingbirds are the best. They're so talented.
ReplyDeleteThat mockingbird seems quite alert!
ReplyDeleteHugging a tree is very therapetic; ask any bird!! I haven't been commenting for a few days because of a family emergency. Go here for explanation: http://visualstpaul.blogspot.com/2016/05/memorial-for-my-sister.html
ReplyDeleteGreat capture, Sharon !
ReplyDeleteI probably shouldn't tell you this, but as per your advice and Grace's advice, I went out this morning and hugged a tree on the back of our property. Well, I almost stepped on a snake, I got into some poison ivy, a crow crapped on my head, but I persevered and hugged a little tree. As I walked back to the house, I noticed I had some pieces of bark on my shirt.
ReplyDeleteWhen I entered the house, my dog, a very smart Dalmatian, looked at me and said "Where have you been and what is all that stuff on your clothes?"
I said, "Bark."
He said, "Woof, woof!"
I love to hear a Mockingbird! I still haven't hugged a tree today but have looked with awe at some flowering crabapple trees! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this info and great photo of the mockingbird!
ReplyDeleteI walked today in our local forest park and did enjoy the trees!
Jacob is one funny guy.
ReplyDeleteI'll go out right now and hug a tree. Carefully.
If you do it, just be sure it's not a Saguaro.
In my world, every day is love a tree day.
