Janet and I braved to crazy downtown traffic on Friday night to attend a Phoenix Suns game at the arena. The whole downtown area is all set up for the football playoff games that are going on this weekend and the crowds downtown were amazing. Not even the cold and damp kept the fans away.
Across the street from the arena is this sort of "Playoff-Land" with live entertainment, food and of course all kinds of souvenirs for sale. There is a fee to enter of course.
All the high-rise buildings around the area have their own football related decorations up.
There was a giant National Championship balloon all lit up.
And, these giant golden football players were spotted way across the activity area.
There is lots going on in Phoenix for sports fans this weekend and thankfully, the rain has stopped.
I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today. It's all about a 3-hour cruise but, don't worry the boat's name wasn't the Minnow.
Splendid night photography Sharon.
ReplyDeleteSuper night shots Sharon, you get the real feel of the bussle and excitement of the city.. hope your team won their game :)
ReplyDeleteIt would be great fun to be a part of the football craze!!
ReplyDeleteGood grief. Talk about over-kill. It's a game! But I love your photography!
ReplyDeleteYou are braver than I. I stayed far away from downtown this weekend. You did a good job with the night shots.
ReplyDeleteFans are fans, you are one for sure!
ReplyDeleteAdmittedly the appeal of football baffles me!
ReplyDeleteExciting times in your town, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteYou are in the center of the universe right now, Sharon, or at least the football universe. Which happens to be my universe, too.
ReplyDeleteNice coverage, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteMy Green Bay Packer won yesterday, but I am really concerned about their game with the Cardinals on Saturday. Sure hope that they take down that bird!!
