Theme Day: Shelter

I slipped across the city limit into Scottsdale for this theme day post after remembering the very unique bus shelters that are located all around the city of Scottsdale.  This one is made up of the artistic iron-work and river rocks.

If you need to wait for the bus, it's nice to have some shade to protect you from the sun and these shelters which are all uniquely different make the wait a little more fun.

If you would like to see how other city daily photo bloggers have pictured "shelters", click here.

  2. You definitely need shelter from the sun if you're waiting for a bus in Arizona. I'm glad somebody decided to make them attractive rather than those metal shed-like things that most cities have.

  4. When a bus shelter is not just a bus shelter! How fantastic Sharon, they're like little urban works of art.

  7. I like these a lot. And they're not going to blow away. Furthermore, they won't be easily stolen!

  10. How wonderful in live in a city where art is taken so seriously that it is used for utilitarian and everyday, commonplace objects and places.

  13. I was afraid all I'd see this month would be bus shelters. But if they look like this, bring 'em on!

  15. Most rewarding picture.
Most of the bus shelters in Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe are beautiful. I started to take pictures of them but never finished the task :-(
