Out of the scar.....

....comes something beautiful!

The last time I was at the garden, I found this cactus that has a rather large gash in it with a gorgeous flower growing right out that bad spot.  I'm not sure what happened to the cactus, probably some type of plant disease but, the cactus seems to have made the best of it.

It's given us something beautiful to look at right from that ugly scar.

  2. Interesting. I wonder if the scar happened there because of the flower -- like it attracted an animal that scarred the plant -- or if the plant bloomed there because of the scar?

  16. That's quite a scar but the big cactus seems to be very healthy. The gorgeous bloom proves it.

  17. I think there is a parable here about rebirth, or recovery, or something, but we need a poet to come up with it.
