Happy Father's Day to all the Father's out there!
This photo goes way, way back. This is my dad taken sometime in the early 70's. When we first moved to Arizona, dad loved to take his jeep out and explore and he found this old mine opening. We went back a week or two later and he had brought along some western duds so he could have his picture taken at the mine. He's looking pretty darn cute, don't you think?
I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today. I'm visiting and ancient wonder, the Colosseum in Rome.

That is a tough looking dad!
ReplyDeleteA fine figure of a man, great portrait!
ReplyDeleteYour father was a handsome man which probably is one explanation for the beauty of his daughters!
ReplyDeleteVery cool shot Sharon, your Dad was a bit of all right :)
ReplyDeleteYour Dad looks like he belongs there! The red shirt clearly brightens up the image. Seems as though he knows what will make a good photo, just as you do!
ReplyDeleteWhat memories to have this photo.
ReplyDeleteI always loved this photo. Gosh, he looks so young!
ReplyDeleteWow! In black and white this would be a dead ringer for an old cowboy movie still. Maybe "The Good, the bad and the Ugly" with Eastwood. Maybe he fell out of a movie with Hopalong Cassidy, Maverick, Jesse James, the Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke, the Calamity Kid...etc. Really.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with other commenteers. What a fantastic portrait!
ReplyDeleteGreat one, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure your Dad wasn't a movie star?
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, Sharon. I can just hear him saying Stay away from my mine, pardner. This gun ain't for show!"
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
ReplyDeleteI love this pic! Your dad looks like he had a sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteThat's great!
ReplyDeleteHe certainly looks like he would have fit in!
ReplyDeleteSuch a dear souvenir! Marvelous shot. Marvelous dad! What a picture to be treasured for ever.
