Ultra-Modern work and home space
Three or four years ago, I toured this place when it was part of a open house home tour for a local charity. It had an interesting layout with a work space on the lower level and residence on the two upper floors. There is quite a lot of glass with views in every direction. Right now, it's sitting here on this Scottsdale corner completely empty. There isn't a for sale sign anywhere but, I'm guessing it is for sale.
It's neighbor house is this modest and well tended brick bungalow making quite a contrast between the two properties. Both are located in the old town Scottsdale area so I'd say they are both on some prime property.
If there is no sign, I can't buy it. I prefer the bungalow anyway.
ReplyDeleteI probably couldn't afford to buy it but that's alright, I wouldn't want to. It is a distinctive looking place. Looks more like an office building.
ReplyDeleteAren't there any zoning laws in Scottsdale? How could they allow that huge blocky thing in a residential neighbourhood of much smaller homes? It's not an ugly building but it doesn't really fit, does it?
ReplyDeleteIt's huge, Sharon! I prefer the bungalow too.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness it's enormous! Just imagine cleaning those windows!
ReplyDeleteQuite a modern design!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice, but I'd rather have the bungalow too.
ReplyDeleteA building like this empty? In Scottsdale? I bet there is a story behind it, a divorce or death or some other calamity.
ReplyDeleteI do like modern design.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind living there! Love the big windows.
ReplyDeleteVery contrasting!
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't get more different styles in architecture Sharon :) Will be interesting to see what happens here, bet the owners of the bungalow will be wondering also!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they built something that was too much tied to their specific circumstances and not well adapted to what the average buyer of such a home might want. Even though I am quite traditional and wouldn't want as modern a design as that, I would think that many potential buyers with modern tastes would at least want to give it a look.
