"Tour de Tavern"

There are all kinds of modes of transportation in downtown Scottsdale.  You can ride a stage coach, or a horse and buggy; there are trolly-like buses and of course real buses.  But, this mode of transportation is all about partying.  It's a people-powered moving bar operated by a company called "Tour de Tavern". You get a large group of people together, hire the service for an hour or two and the guide will drive you to several bars.  The driver/guide, of course does not drink.  The guests all sit at the center bar but, they have bicycle pedals at their feet and they pedal to power the "bar".  I spotted this group Sunday morning.  What do you think?  Does this sound like fun to you?

  3. Probably move at a slower pace by the minute spent on it!
Younger people could be attracted to this kind of drinking entertainment...

  4. Ha! They have these here in Berlin, although I've never seen one with this many "seats". I don't think I'd enjoy it, but I am sure it's fun in a way. ;-)

  5. PS: The ones here sometimes have a canopy too. Seems like that would be even more useful in the Arizona heat.

  6. We have one of these in Prescott. I posted a picture of ours on my blog but I can't remember when that was.

  11. Not something I would enjoy, but since I live in a college town I'm not sure why I have never seen one of these before. I think it would be popular here!

  15. I don't think we have these for pub crawls but Anheuser Busch has a huge one for events. Pedaling these drink after drink is best left to the young.
