Remodeling the Castle

Way back in August of 2008 I did a post about the Copenhaver Castle on Camelback Mountain.  You can see it here. I guess the castle sold recently and now it appears to be undergoing some major renovations.  In fact, It looks like all that is standing are the outside walls.  I'll have to keep my eye on it and see what is done to this very distinctive home.

  5. Please do keep your eye on it! I don't remember this - did it come after my time? I do remember some stunning homes (like this one) on Camelback. Your photo is very very nice - especially with the blue sky and the blue sky reflections in the windows on the home!

  6. Is the gray structure new! I don't think it appears in the photo on the link you provided.

  9. It does look like a total gut job! I bet its new form will be very energy efficient.
I chucked at your story about buying a printer in Best Buys. Funny how you can be so invisible - I'm sure you got service after your rant!

  14. That's a new one on me. I'd never expect a medieval castle in Arizona but then Phoenix architecture is full of ironies.

  16. I read about this castle on the web and forgot to leave a comment... It must not be easy to keep up with the maintenance so high up.

  18. Yeah, what the heck are they doing? Looks like they're basically rebuilding everything except the exterior walls.
