I saw these Texas sage bushes along the side of a street in Paradise Valley and I had to stop to get a photo or two. These are just green shrubs most of the year but at this time of year they break out in color.
I thought these bushes had an exceptional amount of blooms resulting in almost a carpet of purple/lavender blooms. It really is my favorite color so drew me in right away.
You're right, it's a purple carpet... fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThe colors is beautiful but isn't it a little bit too much? :-)
ReplyDeleteMarvellous picture!
ReplyDeleteTomás.
What a fabulous display, are they perfumed?
ReplyDeleteNice one. Purple makes me think of Steve Urkel
ReplyDeletePurple is one of my favorite colors! These things are really lush! A joy to behold!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a riot of color. Don't you wish that they were in bloom all year!
ReplyDeleteOh la! Purple passion, j'adore!
ReplyDeleteWe have these bushes in Tucson also but they are kept so trimmed that we have almost no blossoms at all. I wonder how 'yours' are trimmed so nicely
ReplyDeleteAND still bloom so beautifully.... Lucky you.
That's a dream! Is that what is referred to in the novel 'riders of the purple sage'? Funnily enough, I had never looked it up, it is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt would be difficult to find a visual image that could surpass the beauty of these blooms!
ReplyDeleteW ow - spectacular!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful indeed!
ReplyDeleteThat is some stunning color.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, Sharon, so beautiful !
ReplyDeleteI think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.”

You'd have to be extremely unobservant not to notice those!
I'm not sure I've ever seen Texas sage quite this full of bloom. Some of those spring rains you received have had some good effect!
