The Blooming Season

There are so many plants blooming at the Desert Botanical Garden right now that the place has become a photographers paradise.  All of the photos in these two collages were taken last Sunday on my morning walk.  When I got home I had 195 photos to download.  I had no idea I had taken that many.

I do have to take full advantage of this blooming season while it lasts.  Summer is on it's way and not many of these plants will be blooming when the temperatures soar above the 100 mark.  Besides making these collages, I have been doing some photo editing and have some really interesting effects using these shots.  I do enjoy seeing what I can create from nature's beauty.

  3. I love those kinds of walks! When you get so absorbed in taking photos you don't even realize how many you're shooting...

  4. I don't recall seeing you make a collage before here but these are spectacular. That's amazing that you had such a spectacular photo shoot on one day! Now just think of all the work you have ahead of you. It's a labor of love though I know.

  7. These are two superb collages.
What amazes me is not that
    you took so many pictures
    but that the many pictures
you took are all so compelling,
    colorful, perfectly composed
    and sharp.

    We know you're an angel
    with a camera
I'd like to see what you'd
    do with a harp!

  10. They are gorgeous! I think the most I ever got at any one time was around ninety shots in a few minutes of competitive runners dashing past me.

  12. Just 195? You need more exercise for your right index finger.

But they are beautiful images. It reminds me that Carolyn and I have long wanted to visit Death Vally at this time of year. We've been there many times but never when it is in bloom.
