A touch of red in the desert

Some bright red poinsettias in front of a tall saguaro cactus.
I went to the Desert Botanical Garden Friday morning for a walk and found the place all decked out for the holidays.  There was something fun to see in every direction.

  7. Cactus.. cacti ? really are the most unusual of plants, I almost expected to see an exotic red bloom appearing from this beauty Sharon :) Love the poinsettias, I have one sitting on my table outside right now in readiness for Christmas :)

  13. Poinsettias and saguaros just don't go together in my mind -- although poinsettias ARE from Mexico, I think, so that's not far away! (Southern Mexico, though, if I remember right.)
