A touch of red in the desert

Some bright red poinsettias in front of a tall saguaro cactus.
I went to the Desert Botanical Garden Friday morning for a walk and found the place all decked out for the holidays.  There was something fun to see in every direction.

Nice to see a poinsettia in the wild.

Now, that's a 'tree' of a different texture. Hohoho.

The bright color dresses up everything.

A contradiction between red soft and sharp green.

This one shows off your artistic sense and talent! It's a beautiful and romantic picture...would be great in an Arizona brochure!

Cactus.. cacti ? really are the most unusual of plants, I almost expected to see an exotic red bloom appearing from this beauty Sharon :) Love the poinsettias, I have one sitting on my table outside right now in readiness for Christmas :)

Dolan Ellis would like this photo. He has a new song out about Christmas in Arizona.

I'm traditional and love to see poinsettia everywhere this time of year.

That would make a nice Christmas card.

Poinsettias and saguaros just don't go together in my mind -- although poinsettias ARE from Mexico, I think, so that's not far away! (Southern Mexico, though, if I remember right.)

Poinsettias always are associated with Christmas.
