Orange Frame

What on earth is that thing framing those palm trees?

It's a sculpture that sits on the grounds of the Phoenix Art Museum.  I couldn't find a plaque for this one so I can't tell you who the artist is but, I do know that it has been in various locations around the museum for many, many years.

  3. I'm enjoying the juxtaposition of the sculpture in the foreground and the 'structured' building behind. Two worlds in one.

  4. I thought of Alexander Calder when I saw the top shot but it's definitely not his style. Great framing and colours.

Sharon, I can imagine your disppointment when you realized you couldn't take a shot at Poirot's building. I wonder how you found it... :-)

  6. I do like the way you framed those palm trees Sharon! Orange is not my favorite color, but it sure does make this piece hard to miss.

  8. I'll bet it is by Alexander Lieberman. Google Storm King big red sculpture and you will see a piece very much like this.

  12. Interesting concept -- slices of a cylinder. It makes a great frame! Good eye, as always. :)
