I drove up to Prescott Valley on Friday to visit with my sister Judy. When I was headed home I spotted this truck on the highway with his own little memorial to the 19 firefighters who lost their lives in the Yarnell hill fire last year. Seemed like a perfect way to end the week after Memorial Day.
People shold never forget
ReplyDeleteTHAT was a scary story. I remember reading about what firefighters do when overcome by flames. I never knew that.
ReplyDeleteRemember.
The June, 2014 issue of the Atlantic magazine has a full article : "wildfire: How 19 died on an Arizona mountain."
ReplyDeleteThat was a horrendous tragedy! Hard to believe a year has gone by.
ReplyDeleteAn unusual but effective way to pay tribute.
ReplyDeleteSad, but never forget !
ReplyDeleteThat is interesting. I still come across some memorials in residential front yards from time to time.
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see you!
A horrific event, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteThat was so sad.
ReplyDeleteYour shot also makes me yearn to be on the road in the US...
So sad and we ran across people and small memorials reminding us of this tragedy.
ReplyDeleteIt is a sobering reminder. That was a horrible loss.
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteWell spotted, and captured.
ReplyDeleteWe lost 8 firemen last summer. They are the true heroes.
ReplyDeletePerfect ending for sure Sharon, so weird how things like this happen when they do!
