On Tuesday night, David and I went to see Pink Martini at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts and once again we loved every minute of the concert. Above is Thomas Lauderdale the piano player and group leader. After the concert, he and the other members of the group came out to the lobby to sign autographs and sell CD's. If you don't know Pink Martini, check out this song or something a little exotic like this song. They are one of my all time favorite groups. I've got all their music on my iPod and I listen to it frequently. In fact, I listened to it all the way to London on my flight back in November. I'm so glad I got to see them in person again.

Pink Martini

Attending a concert of one's favorite recording artists does cement the connection to the music for a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteAm unfamiliar with this group, but after listening just a bit to your links, I think I could become hooked very fast. Am returning to the link as soon as I have my morning cup of java. I may even download some of their music if I can figure out my new iphone! Great joyful photo, incidentally.
ReplyDeleteNot only did you get to see them, you met them too!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE them! Got to see them about 2,3 years ago and enjoyed every minute. I remember when they were still students a long time ago, and love that they dabble in all sorts of languages and music traditions. Lucky you to see them live again!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Thanks for the links.
ReplyDeleteI had not heard of this group but listened to the links and they are terrific! Happy that you were able to see them here in Scottsdale.
ReplyDeleteLoved the videos Sharon, even at 2am in the morning :)
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of this group. But then I've not heard of most groups these days. However, I thank you, I think. They are terrific and I was very moved by the first song. Now, I hope you're happy 'cause I've gotten nothing done for quite some time as I've been listening to other songs by Pink Martini! Sheesh!
ReplyDeleteI'm off to check out the links, Sharon. You were so lucky to meet them.
ReplyDeleteI have seen them in concert here, at a jazz festival. They're a terrific act. Excellent shot, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, I just saw them on Monday night.
ReplyDeletePink Martini. I'm not familiar. I don't have the time tonight to check them out, but maybe tomorrow. (Nice portrait!)
