There were three workmen here carefully adding the 'arms' to this giant sculpture. I would imagine that adding those pieces one by one takes quite a lot of patience and gentle handling.
I have a new post on
Sharon's Sojourns today. Today I visit the nation's capitol.

Years ago I watched workers assembling Chihuly's bright yellow chandelier in the foyer of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. It was a slow and very precise process with each piece removed from many, many boxes as the object was being shaped and formed. This one actually is similar, except for color, to the one in the museum.
WOW! I can't imagine what it is to put everything together! Fantastic!
It would be nerve wracking :) but wow it's totally fabulous Sharon!
Plus I imagine they're being very careful not to brush against any of those cactus spines!
It does look very intricate, and stunningly colourful!
Interesting, I always wondered how they moved them without breaking them. What a delicate job that must be.
Imagine the stress level! That one is fabulous.
Wild and creative.

Wow. I'm impressed by their effort, I'd give up rather quickly.
I get all chilly-chihuly just thinking about it. What a tangled web he weaves!
I'm on a break, Sharon but will be back after a while! Take good care!
great shoot !
What a wonderful thing to see in person.
