Prickly snack

I spent the morning with Kathy of Kathy Goes a Ramblin' at the Desert Botanical Garden.  Kathy is in town visiting her daughter and grandson and we decided to get together for a Sunday morning walk.  While we were there, we spotted this rabbit who was munching on this prickly pear cactus.  I don't think I've ever seen a rabbit eating cactus before.

It was great to see Kathy again before she flies off back to Texas.

Reminder:  The November 1 theme for City Daily Photo Bloggers is "Heights"!

  2. I am so happy that you two met and spent some time together! So much fun to meet other bloggers; it's like having pen pals that become friends. Our neighborhood has had a bumper crop of rabbits this year. My soft-hearted husband feels kindly toward them, but I'm merely annoyed at the destruction they created on our shrubs. Gotta admit this one is cute!

  3. Some rabbits will eat anything (or so it seems). We've got lots of little cottontails in this area. Along with gophers that tend to dig up the yard! Ugh. This is one long-eared bunny!

Their favorite treat is the base of all saguaros...

  9. How great that you got a shot of this little rabbit in the middle of a nibble! Our walk through the garden was one of the highlights of my trip!
