3300 Reflection

I happened to be in the right position at the right time to catch this reflection of the One Lexington condominium tower reflected in the 3300 Tower.  Those windows look like mirrors in this shot.

  1. Looks like a giant jigsaw, love the mirror effect!

  2. I used to work in the 3300 Tower, twice in my career. Nice capture.

Your photo also shows one of my pet peeves about the building, and about Phoenix, that would strike European readers of your blog as odd.

Where is the door? You took this photo from Central Avenue. The part of the building that faces a major intersection is at the right of your photo, and there is no door there.

The building is one of the many office buildings that charge higher rent for having a Central Avenue address, but have no door facing Central Avenue.

The main entrance is on the opposite side of the building, facing the parking lot. The architects planned the building with the expectation that no one would be walking from the major intersection on which the building sits into the building.

  3. As Dave describes, the entrance's position is a bit odd. It's a wonderful photo.

  5. Wonderful catch, Sharon. It's fun to see how the individual panes of glass distort the reflection.

  6. Great photo but if I lived in One Lexington and to face this every day I'd worry about the condition of my building!

  7. This is a picture I might have taken if I were there. Isn't it fun seeing what the little imperfections in the glass do to the reflected image?

Dave's comment adds a lot of insight, doesn't it?

  8. Go by it every day on the way home from work and I see it through new eyes; your eyes. Interesting.
