Two Beauties

I found the name of this butterfly by searching the internet.  It's called a Leopard Lacewing, a perfect name for this don't you think?

This one I haven't found yet so if there are any butterfly experts out there and you know what this one is called, let me know.

I'm going to be away for a few days and might not have time to check the internet very often.  I've scheduled some posts while I'm away.  I'll catch up with all of you shortly.

  2. These are both delightful critters. Sometimes the markings make it look like they've got eyes in the back of their back, so to speak.

Have a great time wither thou goest!

  3. Your second butterfly looks like it has false eyes near its tail, which are evidently designed to cause predators to attach the tail and not the head.

  4. I didn't even know there were so many kinds of butterflies.
    Have a nice time!

  5. Nice bit of detective work there Sharon :)The markings on butterflies are unbelievably intricate and beautiful, it's such a shame that they have such a short life span.

    P.S. Have a nice time!

  7. These are both beautiful. Love the photos because you can really take a good look at them. When they are flitting about you can't really see the markings.
