Here are two more of the microdwellings that I featured yesterday. Both of these were created as artist studios. In the top photo you see a TV crew interviewing the builder of this one. The bottom one was quite small but could still be a nice quite place to write, draw, paint, or even blog!
It looks like these may use old sea containers for their sides and roofs. That is a great re-use for what would otherwise be scrap, as I understand that it is cheaper for thee Chinese to make a new one than to ship back an empty container.
ReplyDeleteOf course it would be better to ship back full containers.
I still think they would be perfect for a little 'getaway' on a piece of land somewhere nice.
ReplyDeleteI think they would make nice guest rooms for out of town company.
ReplyDeleteSo neat... I can imagine a personal photo lab too... :-)
ReplyDeleteNow these I like because I think they can fit a distinctive purpose ... But the little one may be too small and one would definitely need a bathroom to make it functional. They really aren't meant to be portable, are they?
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of these little spaces!
ReplyDeleteWriters and artists have long had small separate buildings for their work. One of these would seem to be perfect though perhaps with fewer windows if one wanted to get anything done!
ReplyDeleteI can see these things for studios, if they fit with the design of the main house. But, I am not exactly in love with them.
ReplyDeleteThat second one would make a great blogging studio.
