The Fire Truck
When I was walking downtown last week, this fire truck pulled up and stopped right in front of one of the ASU buildings. Their mission? To pick up some lunch at the Subway Sandwich shop located there.
Typical. I'm not disparaging these guys and gals at all; they are wonderful civil servants. But in Ocala they do like their bagels and you'll often find one or two groups at a neat little shop called Bagelicious.
Does ASU have a presence in downtown Phoenix now?
By the way, I did my student teaching at Phoenix Union High School...I wonder if that still exists.
Hi Sharon ... thanks for your response to my question. I'm not surprised about Phoenix Union HS...it was a rather old building when I worked there.
But I am surprised about ASU. I'd probably not recognize the place now. I graduated from ASU in 1963 (finished my undergraduate work taking night classes) and then did a year of graduate work in Education/American history. Lois worked as a secretary at ASU in those years.
The other day I just discovered they had Subway Sandwich shops here too...
ReplyDeleteI will withhold any wise guy comments. Maybe I am finally becoming mature . . .
ReplyDeleteHaha! I wonder what a fireman orders a subway!
ReplyDeleteThe tall glass building in the center background is the building that Julie want over the edge from the roof, repelling from a rope.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much the trees have grown along the bus terminal. They were little trees when I left. Nice shot.

This is such a pretty picture of Phoenix. I rarely see it from this angle.
ReplyDeleteWhat a change of scenery from my last 9 days in Cuba. An amazing trip; glad to be back and thanks for visiting my blog today!!
ReplyDeleteThe truck adds interest to this city scene. Nice!

They could do worse for a lunch choice!
ReplyDeleteI guess that's what you call a five alarm hoagie!
ReplyDeleteI thought they have stopped there to rescue some cat on the tree! :-)
