SkySong
The 4th of July holiday brought much needed (and much appreciated) rain to the valley. The cloudy skies and the cooler temperatures made it a lovely day to prowl around town looking for photo opportunities. I stopped in Scottsdale at the new ASU facility called SkySong to capture a photo of those magnificent sails that you can see from far away.
SkySong is a facility designed to make an economic impact on local, state, and international markets. It helps to launch and accelerate new companies and new research. You can read more about this fascinating community, governmental, educational, and business collaboration here.
I'll post a couple more photos from here tomorrow.
How many times did I drive by without finding the time to stop and take a couple of pictures... You did it for me... thks

ReplyDeleteRemonds me of a Cirque du Soleil tent!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great structure! You got a nice shot of it with the dark clouds behind too.
ReplyDeleteSo graceful.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting place.
ReplyDeleteIt is not unusual for major universities to play an incubator role, but . . . the sails??? Sorry, but I don't get the connection. Maybe one of the university's trustees makes sail-shaped tents . . .
ReplyDeleteIt is good to see my alma mater continue to be in the forefront of innovation, technology and imagination. It was a good school back in the 60s, too!
ReplyDeleteSuch a strange sight to see in the desert.
