Phoenix Daily Photo Turns 4

Today is the 4th anniversary for Phoenix Daily Photo and I thought I'd revisit the subject of my very first post, the Arizona State Capitol.  This photo was taken looking down Washington Street heading right toward the capitol building.  You can see our Centennial banners hanging from the light poles along the street and announcing that the state is 100 years old.

Here is what the building looks like close up.  Not the most elaborate state capitol building but, it serves the purpose.  They do a great job of keeping that copper dome on top bright and and gleaming.  There are more Centennial posters hanging from the three windows in the front.

  2. Congratulations on all of the posting and photography you have done.

The old Capitol building and dome is so beautiful, and what a shame to have dwarfed it with the ugly, nearly featureless mass of concrete behind it that is the executive office building. It looks like a giant pill box, which is perhaps appropriate for the bunker mentality that some politicians have.
