When I was out taking photos on rainy July 4th, I stopped on Main Street in old town Scottsdale to peek in the gallery windows. I didn't have to cup my hands to the glass to see this work by artist Ed Mell. It's called "Jack Knife" and it sits in the middle of an intersection right on Main Street.
Ride 'em cowboy! That's a very dynamic sculpture, lots of energy.
ReplyDeleteLove it! In the Remington tradition.
ReplyDeleteLove the sculpture...
ReplyDeletehate those round-abouts.
Great name for a great iconic sculpture. I don't think I would recognize Scottsdale any more. When we lived there it consisted of a few shops and one movie theater on a two-lane main street.
ReplyDeleteRe your comment on Ocala: On Top of the World is used metaphorically, I think. I mean where else can you feel like you're on top of the world than in one of these communities for old folks? :-)
Oh wow, what a fabulous sculpture, very dynamic Sharon and as you say hard to miss!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Jackknife would be good for some points at a rodeo...if you could stay on.
ReplyDeleteI love the hard-edge lines & modern twist of this one!
ReplyDeleteThis is what I love about walking around Scottsdale. Lots os art to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteA strong sculpture with great action. It works nicely as the focus for this section.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, Sharon.
That must be newer, well in the last 4 years. Love it.
ReplyDeleteLove the sculpture and the cacti beds.
