I went to see "Wicked" for the third time last Sunday afternoon and I noticed that many of the members of the audience really got into the spirit of the play. One whole family was dressed as characters from "The Wizard of Oz" and there were many ladies with striped stockings walking about. It is one of my favorite musicals but, I must admit I've never felt the urge to mimic the characters from the play.
Great shot!
ReplyDeleteI can understand both your pleasure in the play and your reluctance to get dressed up as one of the characters. Love the striped stockings, tho!
ReplyDeleteCool capture, Sharon! :-)
ReplyDeleteHaha... that's not possible... great shot, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteI thought the socks were nice but what drew me was what looked like a handicapped person's deformed foot.
ReplyDeleteKind of like a modern day Rocky Horror. I have never seen this play but have heard really good things about it.
ReplyDeleteI missed it when it was here a few months ago. Three times, wow. My parents first home was a John F. Long home on 61st and Encanto Blvd. It used to be a nice are when I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteLoved this production of Wicked!. I was surprised to see so many people dressed up. Sox are great, wonder where she found them?
ReplyDeleteIt must be good for you to see it three times. I do get a tickle when I see people dressing up like this.
ReplyDeleteOh that's hilarious Sharon. Like you, I enjoyed it tremendously, but somehow never got the urge to dress in character. Great spotting here.
ReplyDeleteI've heard this is a really good play. My son saw it in Chicago on a class field trip a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny. I would not have thought about dressing as a character either. Cute catch.
ReplyDeleteWicked indeed!
ReplyDeletePeople are very strange and I think a lot of folks have no lives so they try to live through others - especially famous people, movie stars, etc.
ReplyDeleteLove the socks!
ReplyDeleteFun!
ReplyDelete"Three times"...that's wonderful. I ended up going with my teenage daughter last Friday and I did have to tell her to leave the witch hat at home.
ReplyDeleteThis is funny. I didn't wear striped socks when I went to see Wicked either.
ReplyDeleteLol... love that!
