There are many places in Phoenix where the old highways used to pass where you can find old abandoned motels that are no longer in business. I found this place on east Van Buren and it is one of the better maintained places I've seen. It almost looks as though someone is using it for storage but, I know for sure it's no longer a motel. I'll show you more photos from here in the future. It's an interesting spot.
I could imagine a shop in there with that wonderful tree (?) right in front of it!
ReplyDeleteThis place looks very well taken care of. We have motels where the highways have passed them by, also, but they are run-down and frequented mostly by prostitutes and druggies.
ReplyDeleteA building with potential as the real estate agents say
ReplyDeleteLove the colors!
ReplyDeleteIt does look very well maintained for a place that's not being used. Is that pyracantha growing in an arch?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it could be a nice flat for someone!
ReplyDeleteLoved your shot of the jet yesterday too.
Looks like maybe an office or something. East Van Buren can be an interesting drive.
ReplyDeleteNot too run down (yet)...
ReplyDeleteHey, I like the composition and the saturated colours, they sing!
ReplyDeleteColor are great green trim against that peach stucco.
ReplyDeleteLooks very well maintained, the flowers on the right are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt is odd to see an abandoned building that is so freshly painted and well maintained. Someone must have plans for it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's been kept up nicely too. Many places around old highways here don't look so good!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fresh coat of paint on that front door.
ReplyDeleteI like the color of the trim.
ReplyDeleteBlue, pink, white and red all make for a great image Sharon. It certainly seems strange to see an abandoned building being so well maintained. Can something 'intriguing' be going on behind that white door!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like this composition. Abandoned motels, it's sad, but photo opportunities must be great.
ReplyDeleteThis must be on the nicer side of the street! :-)
